Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime through February 1, 2021.

Aggravated Battery

5700 block of Rock Island Rd – Sun Vista Gardens

On January 27, a woman was arrested for Aggravated Battery with a deadly weapon/Domestic Violence after she admitted to cutting her boyfriend with a knife after a verbal dispute.

Battery

6800 block of NW 77th St, Tamarac – Vanguard Village

On January 26, the offender was arrested for domestic battery and transported to BSO Main Jail.

10600 block of W Clairmont Cir – Clairmont

On January 26, a disturbance took place between a security guard and a resident.

Burglary Business

4431 Rock Island Rd – AT&T

On January 28, electrical equipment was stolen from the AT&T tower. No suspect leads at this time.

Burglary Conveyance

9400 block of NW 74th Ct – Westwood 3

On January 26, subjects entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a pair of sunglasses. Subjects were later detained. The victim wished to press charges. Subjects charged accordingly and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing.

 8790 W McNab Rd – Walgreens

On January 27, the victim had four iPhone 12 cellphones (64 GBS) removed from his Black Jeep Cherokee.

4400 block of Treehouse Ln – Arbor Keys

On January 24, the caller advised that his vehicle was broken into. Examination of the burglarized vehicle showed there were signs of forced entry through the driver-side front door.

6300 block of Brookwood Blvd – Vanguard Village

On January 29, while doing lawn services for the Vanguard community, the victim had his front driver’s window smashed where $1,270 along with two checks ($400 & $600) were taken. No suspect information at this time.

10080 W McNab Rd – Steve Barbershop

On January 30, a caller advised two unknown suspects made entry into his vehicle and stole a subwoofer from the trunk. The caller was very uncooperative and affirmed he did not want the incident to be documented. See narrative for more detail.

Burglary Residence

8600 block of NW 80th St – Les Jardins

On January 29, an unknown person entered a locked patio and took a small dolly cart with boxes of dishes and silverware. No sign of forced entry to the patio door and no wheel marks on the ground, just outside the patio door. No latent prints were obtained due to no surfaces conducive to lifting them. Area canvass conducted.

Domestic Disturbance

6 Ann Lee Ln – Shaker Village

On January 26, BSO responded to a verbal disturbance at the residence between a woman and her husband. Nothing physical occurred.

Fire

5400 block of  NW 49th Ter – Manor Parc

On January 29, a residential fire started inside the “kettle-master” that carries tar for roof jobs. The fire was controlled and extinguished by North Lauderdale (44) and Tamarac (78) fire rescue. There was no damage done to the residence or neighbor.

Information

11099 W Commercial Blvd/Sawgrass northbound off-ramp

On January 29, an older man was found walking on the Sawgrass Expressway. The subject advised he was lost and unable to find his way back home. The subject was transported to his residence in the city of Lauderdale Lakes.

6921 Nw 82nd St Heathgate/Sunflower

On January 30,  a person was driving down the road when a brown pit bull ran into the road and ran into the front passenger side bumper.

Missing Person

9500 block of Weldon Cir – Kings Point

On January 26, an 80-year-old woman was last seen that day outside of her home. She suffered from cognitive issues and had plans to be taken to the hospital in the morning. She was later located in her car in Lauderhill.

Theft

4299 W Commercial Blvd – Krispy Kreme

On January 26, the victim advised that an unknown person(s) stole the license plate and decal from her motorcycle while it was parked in the parking lot of Sunshine Plaza.

6100 block of NW 73rd Ave – Mainlands 10

On January 28, a caller witnessed a man steal his son’s bicycle. The caller was able to follow the man and ultimately recover the stolen bicycle.

Mahmound, Azmi (W M, 46) arrested on charges of Larc-Petit Theft1st Degree at 3915 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 01/26/2021.

Jackson, Annissa Marie (B F, 22) arrested on charges of Agg Battery W/deadly Weapon Domestic Viol at 5740 Rock Island Rd, Tamarac, on 01/27/2021.

Herrera, Junior J. (W M, 46) arrested on charges of Possession Of Cocaine at 7901 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 01/28/2021.

Duffy, Terrence Matthew (W M, 36) arrested on charges of Larc-petit Theft 1st Degree at 4121 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 01/28/2021.

Rubaine, Shamal Makimba (B M, 32) arrested on charges of Warrant at 5555 N University Dr, Lauderhill, on 01/28/2021.

Duffy, Terrence Matthew (W M, 36) arrested on charges of Larc-Petit Theft 1st Degree at 4121 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 01/28/2021.

Ferrari, Debra Leigh (W F, 58) arrested on charges of Driving Under Influence Liquor at 8500 Nw 59th St, Tamarac, on 01/28/2021
