The Broward County Supervisor of Elections, Joe Scott, has announced the grand opening of a new state-of-the-art facility. This new center aims to enhance the electoral process by providing a more accessible and secure environment for voters.
Located at 4650 NW 21st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, the center features modern voting technology, increased office space, and enhanced security measures.
The center will serve as an early voting site and a drop-off location for vote-by-mail ballots.
Scott emphasized the importance of the new facility for the community’s electoral transparency. “The opening of this new facility is a crucial development for our community in terms of transparency of the electoral process,” he said. “Not only does it enhance our capacity to manage the election process, but it also provides a convenient and secure location for early voting and ballot drop-offs. We are committed to ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity to participate in the democratic process.”
The new office building will be open for early voting and currently serves as a convenient location for voters to drop off their Vote-By-Mail Ballots. Office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Voters may visit in person to register to vote and update their voting information, among other services.
The grand opening event, which will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, remarks from local officials, and a tour of the new facility, is scheduled for Friday, August 9, 2024.
