Broward County is currently accepting applications for the Emergency Rent Assistance Program (ERAP) through July 31.
The Broward County Commission has received $53 million from the federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program to help residents who have fallen financially behind due to the pandemic.
Applicants that have applied and have been denied from other COVID-19 rental assistance programs can still apply for the new program. Some eligible households may even receive up to 12 months of assistance.
Eligible households for ERAP are not limited to people who have experienced job loss, a reduction in household income, incurred significant loss due to the pandemic, demonstrate a risk of homelessness, and have a household income at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income.
Applicants will be prioritized based on the length of unemployment and households with an active eviction status.
Appointments are required and are available at three locations across Broward.
