Police: Ex-Employee Diverted Nearly $19K in Company Goods to His Apartment 5

A former warehouse employee is accused of printing fake shipping labels to divert nearly $19,000 in company inventory to his apartment, according to police.

According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Jabaree Taji Jackson, 23, of Hollywood, was arrested in Tamarac on July 28 by deputies on charges of grand theft.

According to a Hollywood Police Department arrest affidavit, the investigation began after a business reported that Jackson, a former employee, had allegedly created fraudulent shipping labels to divert unpaid inventory from the company’s warehouse to his home.

Investigators said the company’s accountant became suspicious after reviewing surveillance footage that allegedly showed Jackson wearing hooded sweatshirts inside the warehouse, hiding boxes, and creating shipping labels using his home address over a two-month period.

Records reportedly identified 27 falsified shipping forms generated between June 18 and July 10, 2025, documenting shipments valued at $18,952.63.

Police said surveillance video from July 10 allegedly captured Jackson concealing a large box bearing a fraudulent shipping label behind other boxes before it was shipped to his apartment.

Although older surveillance footage had been automatically deleted, investigators obtained delivery photographs from UPS and FedEx showing packages arriving at the Hollywood address.

Authorities also found that one shipping label had allegedly been altered by overriding the original delivery address and replacing it with Jackson’s home address. Investigators noted the label included the name “Trench,” which they said matched a WhatsApp contact associated with Jackson’s phone number.

When detectives visited the apartment complex on August 26, 2025, they reportedly located a mailbox labeled “Taj Jackson,” which investigators said was consistent with the suspect’s.

Jackson was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
