A pedestrian died after being struck by two vehicles in Tamarac Tuesday morning, authorities said.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 6 a.m. at Northwest 70th Avenue and West McNab Road.
A preliminary investigation found that a vehicle struck the person, knocking them to the ground. After the first impact, a second vehicle also struck the person, authorities said.
The first vehicle that hit the pedestrian stayed at the scene after the crash, according to BSO. The agency did not immediately specify whether the second vehicle left the scene.
The pedestrian died at the scene, authorities said. Their name and gender were not made public.
BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the incident.
There were traffic delays in the area Tuesday morning, and drivers were being advised to seek other routes.
