A late-night disturbance at Stoner’s Pizza Joint escalated into a police chase and a prolonged struggle with a man accused of exposing his anal area to customers, leading to his arrest on indecent exposure charges.

According to a Lauderhill Police Department incident report, on Friday, February 21, they responded to reports of a man exposing himself inside Stoner’s Pizza Joint, located at 5574 West Oakland Park Boulevard, located within the Inverness Plaza shopping center.

LPD reports indicate that, upon arrival, officers were informed by witnesses and employees that a man, later identified as Claude Daniel, 35, of Lauderhill, had been yelling at staff members, refusing to leave, and repeatedly exposing himself.

By the time officers arrived, Daniel had moved to the parking lot, where officers observed him lowering his pants and exposing his sexual organs.

As police approached him, records show Daniel pulled up his pants and attempted to flee eastbound through the plaza. Officers repeatedly ordered him to stop, warning that a taser would be used if he continued to resist.

According to the incident report, Daniel ignored the commands and ran, prompting an officer to attempt to tase him, but the taser probes missed, allowing Daniel to continue his escape.

The foot pursuit continued through the shopping plaza, where multiple witnesses and staff from open businesses, including McDonald’s, Snapper’s Fish and Chicken, Irie Take Out, and a 7-Eleven convenience store, looked on.

Records show that officers caught up with Daniel near McDonald’s, where he resisted arrest. During the struggle, officers were forced to tase and strike Daniel in the face repeatedly, but he remained combative, refusing to roll over and comply with officers’ orders.

As police continued their efforts to restrain him, Daniel attempted to grab the officer’s Taser, escalating the confrontation.

Eventually, Daniel was subdued and taken into custody. After calming the situation, the officers returned to Stoner’s Pizza Joint to find out how the ordeal had begun.

Staff at the pizza restaurant told officers that Daniel had entered the store and began to disturb the employees by yelling at them. They reported being confused because he wasn’t making any sense.

After several minutes, witnesses told officers that Daniel finally exited the front glass door of the business but stood directly in front of the transparent glass doors and pulled down his pants and underwear, exposing his anal area to customers, including small children.

After medical clearance, Daniel was transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
