Tamarac residents are in for a small stormwater rate increase in 2022.
The new rate is established at $142.27 per residential dwelling unit and is $6, or 5% higher than last year.
Financial Services Director Christine Cajuste explained that estimated gross revenue after buy-downs would come to $6.9 million and cover the total cost of providing stormwater management for the city.
The fire rescue assessment rate at $350 per dwelling unit stays the same as 2021. This brings the city’s estimated net total assessments at $14 million after exempt buy-downs, which provides 98.48% of the cost of fire services.
Solid waste assessment rates will remain unchanged as well at $278.25 per dwelling unit — or a total assessment of $5 million. This rate covers curbside pickup, collection costs, disposal fees, and administrative fees from Broward County.
The commission holds the Final Public Budget Hearing on September 28th.
