Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through December 4.
Theft
A victim of Theft – All Other on W Commercial Blvd on 11/29/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,220. A known suspect entered the victim’s residence and left with multiple of their items.
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on N University Drive on 11/28/2023. The total estimated loss was $642 after 137 cans of Libby’s corned beef were stolen from the store.
A victim of Auto Theft on NW 61 Street on 11/28/2023. The total estimated loss was $250. The victim advised her White Infinity Q60 was stolen from her parking spot.
A victim of Theft From a Building on Rock Island Road on 11/29/2023. The total estimated loss was $104. The reportee wants to report her package that was stolen from her front door.
Shooting
A victim of Shooting / Unlawful Discharge on NW 78 Avenue on 11/28/2023. Detectives viewed an unlawful discharge. The parties were detained. Homicide responded.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Building/Structure on Rock Island Road on 11/29/2023. The total estimated loss was $2,250. Employees reported three copper ground bars were stolen from the phone tower located at Rock Island Road.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on McNab Road on 11/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $520. While the victim was in her storage unit, she left her vehicle parked in the front of the building. Upon returning, she noticed her front passenger window was smashed, and her purse was stolen.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – False Pretense on White Oak Lane on 12/02/2023. The total estimated loss was $7,000. An adult female reported she sent a $38.44 check to the city of Tamarac for her water bill, and the check amount was changed to $7,000.
A victim of Fraud – Worthless Check on NW 70th Avenue on 11/29/2023. The total estimated loss was $6,400. The victim went to BSO Tamarac district to report check fraud.
A victim of Fraud – All Other on W Commercial Blvd on 12/01/2023. The total estimated loss was $3,000. The reportee reported her check was stolen from the mail and whitewashed and cashed.
Animal Bite
A victim of Animal Bite on NW 81 Court on 12/04/2023. A family dog attacked multiple members of the family, causing injuries.
Arrests
Smith-Shakes, Monique Lorraine, 36, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence on Royal Way on 11/28/2023.
Biamby, Harry, 73, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault W/ Deadly Weapon-Domestic Violence at NW 57 Court on 11/30/2023.
Newman, Urban, Valentine, 28, was arrested on a charge of Stalking Subject Has Additional Charges at S Bayberry Lane on 12/01/2023.
Farrell, Lincoln, Kevon, 37, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault Weapon W/Deadly Weapon Without Intent To Kill at NW 58 Street on 12/03/2023.
