This is a summary of Tamarac crime events through April 29, 2024, compiled by our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents.
Altercation
Information was reported on 04/27/2024. Two people were involved in an altercation over a bag of carrots.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 04/23/2024. The total estimated loss was $192. The victim reported an unknown subject entered his blue Taizhou motorcycle saddle bag and numerous items were removed.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 04/23/2024. The total estimated loss was $35. The reporting person advised her vehicle was burglarized.
Battery
A victim of Battery was reported on 04/23/2024. An investigation was reported into a battery incident involving a person 65 years of age or older.
A victim of Battery was reported on 04/24/2024. A 13-year-old juvenile was arrested for domestic violence against his mother.
A victim of Battery was reported on 04/27/2024. The victim advised his ex-girlfriend had written words on his truck and then battered him when he went outside to clean it off. The victim then located a tracking device on his truck.
Theft
National was the victim of Auto Theft that was reported on 04/24/2024.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 04/25/2024. An unknown suspect stole the victim’s black, 2018, Nissan Rogue.
The City Of Tamarac was the victim of Theft—All Other, which was reported on 04/25/2024. An unknown suspect(s) stole copper wire from five (5) light posts on the east side of the road.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 04/29/2024. The reporting person advised his vehicle was stolen.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 04/29/2024. Contact was made with the reporting party who advised that her vehicle was stolen from her apartment.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud—Credit Card/ATM was reported on 04/26/2024. The total estimated loss was $18,205. The victim stated that the person(s) used a fraudulent credit card and Driver’s License to purchase tires.
Animal Abuse
A victim of Animal Abuse / Neglect was reported on 04/26/2024. The complainant alleged that a neighbor kicked her dog while she was walking outside. The dog sustained no visible injury.
Criminal Mischief
A victim of Criminal Mischief was reported on 04/29/2024. The offender rammed their vehicle into the victim’s unoccupied vehicle multiple times.
Arrests
Scott, Karen Jacqueline, 60, was arrested on a charge of Battery – on a Person 65 Years Of Age Or Older on 04/23/2024.
Mahabir, Ravendradath A., 57, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 1 Offense at 5800 NW 64 Avenue on 04/23/2024.
Gassett, Jeremy Lakeem, 27, was arrested on a charge of Larceny — Grand Theft 5k Less Than 10k Dollars on 04/24/2024.
Payne, Brandon, 27, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 1 Offense at 6200 NW 94 Avenue on 04/25/2024.
Lochard, Ryvaold, 18, was arrested on a charge of Burglary – Unoccupied Conveyance Unarmed on 04/26/2024.
