Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through February 6, 2024.
Theft
A victim of Theft From a Building was reported on 02/03/2024. The total estimated loss was $5,000. The victim reported cash was taken from the bedroom after the AT&T worker left.
A victim of Theft – All Other was reported on 01/31/2024. The total estimated loss was $3,800. The complainant advised an unknown person stole her check from the mailbox and altered it.
CVS was the victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting was reported on 02/04/2024. The total estimated loss was $236. An unknown male entered the store and stole various fragrances.
Marshalls was the victim of Theft-Retail/Shoplifting, which was reported on 01/31/2024. The total estimated loss was $181.
Publix Liquor was the victim of Theft-Retail/Shoplifting reported on 01/30/2024. The total estimated loss was $180. An unknown subject entered the business, selected multiple liquor bottles from the shelves, and left the store.
A victim of Theft-All Other was reported on 01/31/2024. The total estimated loss was $120. The reporting person advised her purse was stolen from the hood of her car.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 01/30/2024. The vehicle was parked in the swale along the roadside in front of the residence. The victim returned to the area and discovered the car had been stolen by an unknown subject(s).
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 02/02/2024. The victim reported an unknown suspect (s) stole his 2023 Toyota Tacoma.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 02/03/2024. A Black Honda Accord 2004 was stolen.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Residence was reported on 01/30/2024. The total estimated loss was $20,000.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 02/01/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,530. An adult female reported her work PC was stolen from inside her vehicle; it was unknown how or where it was stolen because she reportedly didn’t lock the doors while making several stops throughout the day.
Criminal Mischief
Versailles Gardens was the victim of Criminal Mischief, reported on 01/31/2024.
Fire
A victim of Fire was reported on 01/31/2024. A vehicle fire was reported.
A victim of Fire on NW 80th Avenue/NW 78 Street was reported on 02/02/2024. The victim was driving a 1987 Chevy Corvette when it suddenly caught fire. He was able to get out of the vehicle unharmed.
Information
Information was reported on 01/31/2024. A mother and daughter filed a report concerning a message from a family friend that could indicate a possible attempt at grooming the juvenile.
Information was reported on 02/05/2024. The total estimated loss was $61,000. The person reported that a known subject allegedly defrauded her.
Arrests
Slade, Shaderrica, Brianna, 23, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Dating Violence on 01/31/2024.
Meyer, Stephen, Zachary, 45, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 1 Offense at 5600 Madison Avenue /W Commercial Blvd on 01/31/2024.
Oliver, Dominique, Jones, 32, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence on 02/01/2024.
Excellent, Franck, 39, was arrested on a Larceny – Other Theft charge on 02/02/2024.
