Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through April 27.
Auto Theft
5213 N State Road 7 – Tamarac Square
On April 21, the reporter met his ex-girlfriend at the parking lot per her request. After an argument, the ex-girlfriend entered the victim’s vehicle, a gray BMW 328i and drove it away, without the victim’s permission. While on the phone with the suspect, she stated she was not giving the car back and for the police to come catch her.
8200 block of NW 61st – Fairways of Tamarac
Between April 23 and April 24, the victim parked her 2018 Honda in her parking lot and woke up to find it missing. It was not towed. The vehicle was entered into teletype as stolen.
Battery
8100 block of NW 72nd Av
On April 26, the victim reported her boyfriend’s brother slammed her.
Burglary Conveyance
5700 block of NW 47th Ave – Central Parc
On April 25, Four vehicles were burglarized from the above location by three unknown males.
5700 block of W Commercial Blvd – Mainlands
On April 26, the resident stated his tag was missing from his vehicle. He saw it on the vehicle the day prior. No cameras, no suspects.
Criminal Mischief
5900 block of Woodland Point Pl – The Commons
Between April 21 and April 22, the victim woke up and found an unknown person had punctured three tires on her vehicle.
8500 block of NW 61st St – 72 West Apartments
On April 22, a female was a victim of criminal mischief from her ex-boyfriend. Her living room window and driver side of her vehicle white 2016 Hyundai Elantra were damaged.
Domestic Disturbance
5100 block of NW 48th Ln – Manor Parc
On April 22, BSO responded to address regarding domestic violence (non-crime) between the caller and his wife over divorce and the dissolution of a joint business.
8400 block of NW 78th Ct – Waterford Isles Woodmont
On April 23, a married couple was in a verbal altercation involving the husband’s father vacating the residence.
Found Property
3100 block of W Commercial Blvd -3 Lakes Plaza
On April 25, the reporting person advised that while he was waiting for his mother to come outside from the store she was in, he found two clear plastic bags of a green leafy substance that was possibly suspect cannabis and wanted to turn it into the police.
Fraud
6700 block of Hiatus Rd
On April 21, an unknown person used several of the victim’s credit card without her knowledge or permission.
5900 block of Abbey Rd – Hampton Hills
On April 24, an unknown suspect ordered a credit card in the reporting person’s name via landline and stole an empty envelope from the reporting person’s front door. The reporting person removed the credit card from the envelope before the suspect stole the envelope.
Burglary Residence
8100 block of N University Dr – Flats on the Green
On April 25, a father reported a burglary to his son’s leased apartment. A box of kitchen appliances was taken that were packed up to be moved. No forced entry.
Property Damage
5098 Island Club Dr – Palm Island Club
Between April 21 and April 23, an unknown suspect(s) damaged between 60-70 mailboxes at Palm Island Club apartment complex.
Lost Property
8000 block of NW 96th Ter – Coral Vista Apartments
On April 25, a person lost a black .45 caliber Hi-Point handgun that was left on top of the vehicle prior to driving off.
Armed Robbery
5800 block of NW 61st Ave – Woodlands Meadows
On April 24, the victim was traveling on foot walking past building #20, when an unknown male approached them. The victim stated that the subject asked for her possessions while pointing an unknown make and model firearm at her. The victim was then struck with the firearm, and the subject was ultimately able to make off with the victim’s purse along with her cellphone.
Theft -All Other
7650 N University Dr – Atria Assisted Living Facility
On April 21, a victim at Atria Assisted Living Facility stated two gold rings were missing from her apartment.
4635 NW 59th St – Dollar Tree
On April 21, the victim wanted to report a theft of her black cardholder wallet containing personal information and ATM card
6701 Hiatus Rd – City Furniture
Between March 23 and April 22, the reporting person wanted to report the theft of her business’s (Lane Heard Trucking LLC) trailer.
Touch or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence
3800 block of W Commercial Blvd – Extended Stay
On April 22, the victim was pushed and hit multiple times on the back of the head because of an argument she had with her husband.
5800 block of NW 72nd Av – Mainlands
On April 22, the caller stated that her son is a drug user and was at her residence attempting to get money from her, the caller also indicated that she has filed a restraining order against her son and is waiting for the hearing date.
Information
7801 NW 80th Av – Woodmont Golf Course
On April 22, the reporting person was painting lines on the cart path when a medium-sized black bulldog mix that was not leashed came after them. The dog was kept at bay using the paint roller they had in their hand and was never bit. Reporter injured their left knee by scraping the side of it, as they hurried to get into the golf cart that was parked nearby.
6300 block of Wax Myrtle Cir – Woodlands Country Club
On April 25, the victim noticed a bullet hole and bullet in his red Lexus. Unknown time delay. The bullet was unable to be retrieved from vehicle. Photos uploaded to Evidence.com.
