Tamarac Crime Update: Aggravated Battery Victim Loses $10K

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through February 21.

Aggravated Battery

A victim of Aggravated Battery on W Commercial Blvd. Aggravated Battery by Motor vehicle and Auto Theft were reported on 02/19/2023. The total estimated loss was $10,000. 

Burglary Conveyance

A victim of Burglary Conveyance (C) at NW 58 Avenue reported on 02/14/2023. The total estimated loss was $550. An unknown person entered victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole Taurus 9mm handgun and Apple iPhone 10.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N State Road 7 was reported on 02/14/2023. The total estimated loss was $100.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 54 Way was reported on 02/17/2023. The total estimated loss was $520. An unknown subject broke into her 2019 white Mazda CX-5 and her daughter’s 2018 blue Chevy Cruze. The unknown subject forced entry into the daughter’s vehicle, but the other car was leftunlockedd.

Theft – All Other

A victim of Theft – All Other on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 02/15/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,000. An unknown male subject unpacked a newly shipped shopping cart corral and stole it.

Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts

A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on N Pine Island Rd was reported on 02/18/2023. The total estimated loss was $625.

Auto Theft

A victim of Auto Theft on Gate Lake Road was reported on 02/17/2023. The victim returned home and advised the subject involved in the domestic violence call was the same subject who took her 2003 red Saturn without the victim’s permission. 

Fraud – All Other

A victim of Fraud – All Other on Rock Island Road reported on 02/15/2023. The total estimated loss was $500. The victim deposited a fraudulent check into her bank account.

Battery

A victim of Battery was reported on Gate Lake Road. Domestic Violence and Battery of an Elderly person 02/17/2023. 

Arrests

Alicea, Anthony, 20, was arrested on a Larceny-Grand Theft Of Firearm charge on NW 57 Steet on 02/14/2023.

Blakney, Matthew John, 36, was arrested on a Warrant/ Resist With Violence No Bond charge at 7600 NW 57 Steet on 02/15/2023.

Reeves, Era Shinice, 29, was arrested on a charge of Warrant at 8187 N University Drive on 02/16/2023.

Ramos Rivas, Marcos Joel, 31, was arrested on a Trespassing-Property Not Structure Or Conveyance charge on N University Drive on 02/17/2023.

Reid, Nickeal A., 42, was arrested on a charge of Warrant-Possession of a Weapon Convicted Felon at 7425 N University Drive on 02/20/2023.
