Tamarac Crime Update: German Shepard Attacks Man and his Dog

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through November 20.

Theft

A victim of Auto Theft on NW 78 Court on 11/14/2023. A black 2021 Honda Accord was stolen.

The victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on Island Club Drive on 11/17/2023. The total estimated loss was $20.

A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Commercial Blvd on 11/18/2023. The total estimated loss was $113. An unknown male and female entered the store, placed five (5) comforters and one (1) pair of gray boots into a shopping basket, and proceeded to steal the items by exiting the store’s rear door and setting off the alarm. The total estimated loss was 262.94.

Battery

A victim of Battery on W Commercial Blvd on 11/14/2023. The victim advised that a guest at the hotel grabbed her gluteus maximus against her will.

Fraud

A victim of Fraud – False Pretense on Lime Bay Blvd on 11/14/2023. The total estimated loss was $4,000.

The victim of Fraud Identity Theft on NW 67 Court on 11/15/2023. The reporter wanted to make a report regarding an unknown subject applying for credit in her name.

A victim of Fraud – Worthless Check on W Commercial Blvd on 11/15/2023. The total estimated loss was $24,000. The complainant advised that someone cashed five fraudulent checks at W Commercial Blvd.

The victim of Fraud – Wire on NW 45 Court on 11/16/2023. The total estimated loss was $48,000. An adult male reported his mother wired $48,000.00 from her bank account to an unknown person claiming to be a US Marshalls’ agent.

Animal Bite

A victim of Animal Bite on NW 99 Avenue on 11/17/2023. While the victim was walking his small dog, the neighbor’s larger German Shepherd got out of the fenced-in backyard and then attacked the smaller dog. The victim tried to get the German Shepard to let go of his dog and was bit on his right ring finger.

Information

Information on NW 61st Street on 11/17/2023. The parents have had a falling out for some time. On this day, the male began to rub the female’s leg, insinuating that he wanted to have sex. When the female refused, he decided to take their shared child and not tell her where he was heading.

Robbery

A victim of Robbery on N State Road 7 on 11/18/2023. The total estimated loss was $10,000. An individual was robbed at gunpoint at the N State Road 7 plaza, and the only item taken was a gold chain worth 10 thousand dollars.

Burglary

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 80 Avenue on 11/19/2023. The total estimated loss was $850. The unknown suspect(s) smashed the rear passenger window and removed the victim’s property.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 48 Avenue on 11/19/2023. The total estimated loss was $140.

Arrests

Brown, Jerquian, Lashawn, 30, was arrested on a Trespassing Property, Not Structure Or Convey charge at N State Road 7 on 11/19/2023.

Betty, Paul A., 47, was arrested on a Trespassing Property, Not Structure Or Convey charge on W Commercial Blvd on 11/15/2023.
