Tamarac Crime Update: 2 Victims Robbed By Pick Pockets on N Pine Island Road

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through October 2.

Theft – Pocket Picking

A victim of Theft – Pocket Picking on N Pine Island Rd on 09/28/2023. The total estimated loss was $75. The victim was about to pay for her items when she noticed her wallet was missing.

A victim of Theft – Pocket Picking on N Pine Island Road on 09/28/2023. The total estimated loss was $101. The victim advised that an unknown person(s) pickpocketed her purse and stole her wallet while she was shopping.

Auto Theft

A victim of Auto Theft on NW 49 Drive on 09/26/2023. The victim is reporting his vehicle, a silver Nissan Altima, was stolen from his residence.

A victim of Auto Theft on W McNab Road on 10/01/2023. The victim’s vehicle was stolen from a friend’s house.

Theft

A victim of Theft – All Other on W Commercial Blvd on 09/26/2023. The reporting person reports that one employee has committed theft to the victim; the total estimated loss was $3,000.

Theft – Retail / Shoplifting

A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Commercial Blvd on 10/02/2023. The total estimated loss was $716. A subject entered the business, worked with accomplices to take products, and left without paying.

A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Commercial Blvd on 09/27/2023. The total estimated loss was $133. The subject entered and grabbed miscellaneous items inside the business, then proceeded to exit the store, passing all points of sale.

Robbery

A victim of Robbery on NW 57 Street on 09/26/2023. The victim was carjacked.

A victim of Robbery on W Commercial Blvd on 09/26/2023. The total estimated loss was $900. The victim stated that an unknown person robbed him.

A victim of Robbery By Sudden Snatching on W McNab Road/Brookwood Blvd on 09/27/2023. The total estimated loss was $500.

Burglary Conveyance

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on Woodland Point Drive on 09/26/2023. The total estimated loss was $350. A firearm was taken from the center console.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on W Commercial Blvd on 10/01/2023. The total estimated loss was $500. The victim stated that his pistol was missing when he returned to his unlocked vehicle.

Fraud

A victim of Fraud – All Other on Rock Island Road on 09/26/2023. The total estimated loss was $13,343. Checks mailed from the accountant were intercepted and cashed in someone else’s name.

A victim of Fraud – False Pretense on Southampton Terrace on 09/29/2023. The total estimated loss was $9,400.

A victim of Fraud – All Other on N Plum Bay Parkway on 09/26/2023. The victim called and reported identity fraud. The total estimated loss was $1,478.00. The victim advised that an account from AT&T was opened in his name and is now in collections.

Threats / Intimidation

A victim of Threats / Intimidation on NW 78 Street on 09/27/2023. The complainant was sent screenshots of a social media page posting photos and disparaging comments about her.

Battery

A victim of Battery on Largos De Campo Blvd on 09/27/2023. Battery occurred at a community meeting.

A victim of an Aggravated Battery on W Commercial Blvd/Rock Island Road on 09/28/2023. The victim suffered two shots to the face with what is believed to have been a pellet gun.

Arrests

Cochran, Mycaijhia, Zcliche, Carrie, 20, was arrested on a charge of Fraud-Imperson-False Id Given To Leo on N Pine Island Road/Lagos De Campo Blvd on 09/26/2023.

Castillo, Victor, 19, was arrested on a Warrant – Grand Theft Auto charge on NW 57 Street on 09/26/2023.

Johnson, Charles, Jaqauvius, 23, was arrested on a Vehicle Theft Grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle charge on W Commercial Blvd on 09/27/2023.

Thomas, Roderick, Jerome, 48, was arrested on a Larceny Petit Theft 2 Degree 3rd Subsq Offense charge on W Commercial Blvd on 09/27/2023.
