Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through December 11.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud Worthless Check on W Commercial Blvd on 12/08/2023. Five checks were deposited into a customer’s account; the payer did not authorize the checks, and they were returned. The estimated total value was $19,888.85.
A victim of Fraud Worthless Check on Southhampton Terrace on 12/07/2023. The estimated total value was $11,000.
A victim of Fraud – All Other on NW 57 Street on 12/05/2023. The estimated total value was $7,000. The victim wanted to report that her check was stolen from the mailbox and whitewashed.
A victim of Fraud Worthless Check on 12/07/2023. The estimated total value was $6770.00.
A victim of Fraud – Impersonation on NW 44 Street on 12/08/2023. The victim advised someone opened a Comcast account using her personal information but used their own phone number and email.
A victim of Fraud Identity Theft on NW 93 Avenue on 12/09/2023. An unknown suspect hacked the victim’s Facebook Account and is trying to sell items to the victim’s friends and family by posing as the victim.
Threats
A victim of Threats / Intimidation on NW 93 Avenue on 12/05/2023. The victim person received threats via text message.
Theft
A victim of Auto Theft on NW 54 Street on 12/08/2023. The victim’s 2002 gray Mercedes was stolen. The estimated total value was $50,000.
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Commercial Blvd on 12/06/2023. The estimated total value was $156.
Death
A victim of Death Investigation on W Commercial Blvd. A hotel guest was found deceased in his hotel room after an employee conducted a welfare check.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 55 Street on 12/08/2023. Two male subjects entered the victim’s vehicles and stole a 14K gold chain and cross and assorted change. The estimated total value was $813.
Robbery
A victim of Robbery on W Commercial Blvd on 12/10/2023. The estimated total value was $200. The victim was forced into her home at gunpoint, and then the subject stole $200 from her room. The subject was unknown.
Battery
A victim of Battery on W Commercial Blvd on 12/11/2023. An unknown male battered an elderly victim.
Arrests
Cano, Mario, 47, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Battery-Cause Bodily Harm Or Disability on N State Road 7 on 12/10/2023.
Curry, Ricardo, Laure, 38, was arrested on a charge of Touch or Strike /Battery/Domestic Violence on NW 70 Avenue on 12/06/23.
