Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through August 14.
Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts was reported on 08/08/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,000.
Battery
A victim of Battery on Hiatus Road was reported on 08/08/2023. The victim advised that an Amazon Flex driver slapped her.
A victim of Battery on NW 82 Street was reported on 08/10/2023. The victim went to his girlfriend’s house to visit. While sitting outside, her stepfather came home, walked over to him, slapped his food out of his hand, and began pushing and punching him. The victim fought back, and the two fell into the grass, where they continued to fight. The suspect then got in his car and drove away.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance at Tuscany Terrace was reported on 08/08/2023. The total estimated loss was $4,846. Someone unlawfully entered the victim’s black 2019 Range Rover Sport and stole his wallet and firearm, both left in his car.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance at Planet Fitness on NW 57 Street was reported on 08/10/2023. The total estimated loss was $2,254.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on Azalea Court was reported on 08/09/2023. The total estimated loss was $300. Unknown subject(s) burglarized the victim’s 2022 Gray Toyota Tacoma Pickup while parked in his community.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on 57 Street was reported on 08/09/2023. The total estimated loss was $200. The victim parked the vehicle at Planet Fitness and left Apple Air Pods and a JBL speaker within the vehicle, and the front passenger side window was smashed in.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance Lakeside Drive was reported on 08/10/2023. The total estimated loss was $179. The complainant’s vehicle was burglarized. Two pairs of shoes were stolen and forced entry by breaking the rear passenger window.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 08/08/2023. The total estimated loss was $810. On separate dates, an employee committed theft by intentionally not scanning items for a specific customer.
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 08/08/2023. The total estimated loss was $303. An unknown male entered the business and walked out with approximately $303 worth of merchandise.
Aggravated Assault
A victim of Aggravated Assault on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 08/08/2023. An unknown male racked a firearm and pointed it at the victim while in the drive-thru.
Auto Theft
A victim of Auto Theft on Lagos De Campo Blvd was reported on 08/11/2023. The total estimated loss was $3,300.
A victim of Auto Theft on Mainland Drive was reported on 08/08/2023. An unknown person broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole it.
Burglary Residence
A victim of Burglary Residence on Woodlands Blvd was reported on 08/10/2023. Deputies responded to the listed residence about an occupied burglary.
Fraud – Worthless Check
A Fraud – Worthless Check victim on NW 55 Court was reported on 08/10/2023. Two employees made fraudulent checks and cashed them.
Theft – All Other
A victim of Theft – All Other was reported on 08/11/2023. Three unknown suspects broke into the plaza’s mailbox and took an unknown number of pieces of mail belonging to the different businesses in the plaza.
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on Lime Bay Blvd was reported on 08/11/2023. The total estimated loss was $900. Rims/Tires were stolen off a 2023 Honda Accord.
Arrests
Millan, Juan, Novoa, 20, was arrested on a charge of Robbery-With Firearm at Weldon Circle on 08/09/2023.
Martin, Hunter, Scott, 28, was arrested on a charge of Warrant Attempted Burglary/Convey/Unoccupied at Treehouse Lane on 08/13/2023.
Reynoso, Raul, 65, was arrested on a charge of Trespassing-Fail To Leave Property Upon Order By Owner on N State Road 7 on 08/14/2023.
Mcbride, Monta, De Lano, 43, was arrested on a charge of Warrant on Island Road on 08/14/2023.
