Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through January 2.
Fire
A fire at 5751 Madison Av was reported on 12/27/2022 at Woodsprings Apartments located at 5751 Madison AV. The fire marshal determined the fire accidental, originating from a stove in one of the apartments.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Building/Structure was reported on 12/27/2022. Unknown suspect(s) unlawfully entered the storage container, removed multiple items, and left the scene. The estimated total loss was $1,950.
Theft
A victim of Theft From a Building was reported on Hibiscus Circle on 12/28/2022. The victim stated she had items missing during a move. The estimated total loss was $52,400.
Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts was reported on 12/30/2022. The estimated total loss was $3,500. Unknown suspects stole all four (4) tires and rims of the victim’s 2022 Honda Accord Special Edition and 2022 Toyota Corolla XSE.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – All Other on W 71st Circle was reported on 12/30/2022. The estimated total loss was $9,999. The victim advised that a known person stole banking information and personal information from her residence to commit fraud.
Arrests
Sheppard, James Andrew, a 32-year-old male, was arrested on a charge of Warrant- DUI, Bond: $250, at 8191 W Commercial Blvd, on 12/27/2022.
Metayer, Erock, a 40-year-old male, was arrested on a charge of Cruelty To Animals on 62nd St on 12/27/2022.
Kelly, Ronald Trayvon, a 26-year-old male, was arrested on a charge of Burglary Occupied Structure, Burglary Occupied Unarmed – Across County Lines on Southgate Blvd on 12/27/2022.
Sheppard, Shaniqua Tanae, a 29-year-old female, was arrested on a Touch or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence charge on NW 72nd Avenue on 12/31/2022.
Egger, Austin R, a 28-year-old male, was arrested on a charge of Battery – On a Person 65 Years of Age on NW 54th St, on 1/02/2023.
