Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through July 13.
Aggravated Assault
4299 W Commercial Blvd – Krispy Kreme
On July 11, a woman reported an unknown female pointed a gun at her while having an altercation at the Krispy Kreme drive-through.
6800 block of Southgate – Mission Lakes
On July 12, a man stated he was assaulted with a weapon by an acquaintance’s husband at the above location when the subject pointed an armed weapon to the back of his neck then punched on the side of his head by the subject’s friend.
Animal Bite
4500 block of NW 17th Way – Tamarac Lakes
On July 8, the caller was bitten by a loose unknown white small dog while she was walking on the picnic area of the complex. The dog was accompanied by an unknown juvenile female who walked away to an unknown location after the incident.
Auto Theft
7800 block of NW 70th Ave – Heathgate/Sunflower
On July 9, an unknown person smashed out the driver’s window or rear driver’s side passenger window, taking the Dodge Ram 2500. The victim advised they still have all sets of keys for the vehicle. Area canvassed and no witnesses or outside video cameras found in the area.
Burglary Conveyance
8500 block of NW 61st St – Spectra Apartments
On July 7, an unknown subject(s) entered into the unlocked vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of the apartment complex. A wallet containing a Florida driver’s license, social security card, City Furniture employee ID, and three credit cards were taken from the center console. No witness or surveillance video available.
3801 W Commercial Blvd – SVP Tile and Marble
On July 9, the victim reported unknown suspects broke into his work van via an unlocked door and removed numerous items for an approximate loss of $1,940.
9700 block of W McNab Rd
On July 12, an unknown suspect went into the victim’s vehicle & stole the airbag from the steering wheel.
Counterfeiting
3116 W Commercial Blvd – Winn Dixie
On July 2, two counterfeit $100 bills were used at the cash register.
Criminal Mischief
5500 block of NW 31st Ave
On July 6, a known ex-boyfriend damaged the rear window of the complainant’s vehicle, a 2017 blue Nissan Maxima.
8500 block of NW 61st St – Spectra Apartments
On July 7, an unknown subject(s) vandalized the victim’s vehicle by scratching with an unknown sharp instrument on the hood, right fender, and right door. No witness or surveillance video available.
7900 block of Nob Hill Rd
On July 5, a person called because someone had deliberately scratched the doors on the rental car she had.
Domestic Disturbance
11000 block of Bailey Ln – Captiva
On July 11, a married couple had a verbal dispute. The Male locked himself in a bedroom as the female attempted to breakdown the door. No physical altercation involved.

20 block of Canterbury Ln – Shaker Village
Between July 3 and July 6, the person advised that he found what appears to be a bullet hole on the trunk of his vehicle.
8000 block of NW 72nd Ave – Heathgate/Sunflower
On July 11, following an argument with his parents, an adult male left his home wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt, blue shorts, possibly on a moped. No threat noted.
Theft
5800 block of NW 57th Ct – Woodland Meadows
On July 5, the victim went out of town, and once he returned, he noticed his tag was missing from his vehicle.
Drugs/Narcotics
6100 The Commons
On July 7, under a traffic stop, the driver was found in possession of approximately seven grams of cannabis. He was taken into custody and released with a notice to appear.
Property Damage
8100 block of San Carlos Cir – Sanibel
On July 7, the person advised that the tow company damaged her1998 Black BMW 3 while attempting to tow it.
Retail Theft
3101 W Commercial Blvd – 7 Eleven
On July 8, an unknown male entered the business and selected a beer from the refrigerator. He then exited business without paying for the beer.
8199 N University Dr – Walgreens
On July 7, a male suspect wearing all black clothing with a black hat stole $271.93 worth of baby formula. He Fled scene in a silver four-door sedan with an unknown driver.
5881 N University Dr – Publix
On July 7, an unknown subject passed all points of sale & exit the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise. Publix manager walked outside and observed the subject load the merchandise in a silver Lincoln Town car with a black top bearing FL Tag KDWV86 that with a driver waiting for him. The subject noticed the manager watching him and quickly entered the vehicle, and the driver fled the area leaving some of the merchandise in the shopping cart. The total amount stolen was $301.65.
Property damage
9400 block of N Belfort Cir – Kings Point
On July 10, a woman observed a hole through her rear driver side window that did not appear intentional.
5881 N University Dr – Publix
On July 9, an unknown female stole multiple items totaling $455.41. The subject left the scene in a gray Dodge Nitro with a temporary tag.
Theft
8200 block of NW 72nd Ave – Southgate
On July 9, the victim advised his Florida tag and decal were stolen off his black Cadillac Escalade while parked at his residence.
Arrests
Clark, Jasen Denard (B M, 39) was arrested on charges Damage Prop-crim Misch-over $200 Under $1,000 at 5530 NW 31st Ave, Tamarac, on 07/07/2020.
Rosas, Israel (W M, 46) was arrested on charges of Trespassing-property at 7015 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 07/08/2020.
Leo, Steven Eric (W M, 56) was arrested on charges of Burglary-Conveyance Unoccupied/unarmed at 2712 Nw 53rd St, Tamarac, on 07/09/2020.
Stephens, Shataya Lynn (B F, 31) was arrested on charges of Warrant/Burglary Conveyance Unoccupied-no Bond at 6351 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 07/11/2020.
