Dear Neighbors,

Happy New Year! Though we may have celebrated the holidays a little differently this season, there is still so much to be positive and hopeful for this year.

COVID-19 vaccines are finally becoming available locally. At the time of this writing, the Florida Department of Health (DOH) in Broward County has begun scheduling free vaccinations for individuals 65 and over. They’ve been experiencing some technical difficulties but are working to fix their registration site for scheduling vaccination appointments. Please monitor browardcovidvaccine.com for updates and note that currently, no appointments can be made by telephone. Please contact your doctor/medical provider to determine if the vaccine is recommended for your personal health.

Back at City Hall, starting on January 10, Hans Ottinot will join our City as interim attorney. We welcome Hans and the Ottinot Law Firm to the City of Tamarac and look forward to working together. After 15 years of outstanding service, we wish Sam Goren and the team at Goren, Cherof, Doody & Ezrol, PA all the best. A permanent City Attorney is expected to be chosen within the next few months.

Food distribution will continue this month at the following locations and times:
