The Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce will host a virtual Lunch and Learn designed to help small-business owners improve their chances of securing financing.
“How to Make Your Business Bankable” will take place Thursday, Sept. 17, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom. The professional training session is free.
The program will explain what lenders look for when evaluating small businesses and how owners can better position their companies for loans, grants and other funding opportunities.
Topics will include financial documentation, business credit, cash flow management and building long-term relationships with financial institutions. Participants will also learn about available funding programs and ways to structure their businesses for future expansion and investment.
The Miami Bayside Foundation, a nonprofit organization, will present the session and supports economic development in South Florida through minority-owned businesses and education. The organization provides loans, technical assistance and training to small businesses based in South Florida.
Since 2011, the foundation has awarded 301 loans totaling more than $19.7 million to South Florida businesses, helping create more than 500 jobs.
