The City of Tamarac is calling on residents to help support homeless veterans through a community donation drive organized by the city’s Veterans Affairs Committee.
The initiative aims to collect essential hygiene and comfort items for veterans experiencing homelessness.
Residents are encouraged to donate personal care items and everyday essentials to help veterans meet basic needs as they work toward stable housing and support services.
Items requested include shampoos and conditioners, dry shampoo, combs and hairbrushes, soaps and body washes, toothpaste and toothbrushes, dental floss, mouthwash, deodorant, lip balm, facial wipes and cleansers, moisturizers, sanitary products, hand creams, and razors.
Additional items needed include shaving gels and oils, nail files and clippers, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, tissues, foot powder, socks, mini first-aid kits, reusable cups, non-perishable snacks, fast-food gift cards, coloring books, crayons, and chewable multivitamins.
Donations can be dropped off by appointment at the Parks and Recreation Administration Building, located at 6001 Nob Hill Road. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 954-597-3621. Donation drop-offs are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
