The J.P. Taravella varsity baseball team took part in the High School Baseball Toy Drive, donating over 1,000 toys to the Cross Creek Behavioral Center in Pompano Beach on December 20.
Head Coach Joe Giummule, who brought the team, has been partnering with the Cross Creek Behavioral Center for nine years since he taught and coached at Pompano Beach.
“Putting smiles on kids’ faces is priceless, and it shows my players how lucky and fortunate they are,” Giummule said. “I’m thankful to have an admin that supports me and players and parents that make this all happen.”
The Trojans are also preparing for another year and have completed a terrific fall season. They are set to begin their season in February in a preseason tournament in Key West after another trip to Regionals last year.
