The VCA Walk for the Animals is back, celebrating 34 years of supporting the Humane Society of Broward County.
Held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park, this event promises a day of fun for animal lovers.
Participants can join a one-mile walk along the beautiful beach breeze location. The event offers vendor booths, entertainment, prizes, and more.
Those who gather donations will receive gifts based on fundraising levels, starting at $150, which includes the official Walk t-shirt.
Raise $1,000 or more, and your dog could be the 2025 Walk Cover Dog, following in the pawprints of 12-year-old Anni, the 2024 Cover Dog.
Event Chairs Carey Morgan and Michelle, Anni’s owner, are leading the event alongside emcees Jacey Birch, Korby Ray, and Jade Alexander. Registration is now open at Walk4theAnimals.com, offering options for individual or team registration.
The event does not require any registration fee. However, it plays a crucial role as the largest fundraiser of the year for the Humane Society of Broward County. The shelter relies on donations and sponsorships to continue its care for homeless animals and provide various programs and services such as low-cost vaccinations, education, and surrender prevention.
For those unable to attend the event on February 3, virtual participation is encouraged through fundraising.

Sponsors for the VCA Walk for the Animals include VCA Animal Hospitals, Purina, Tidy Cats, and many others, all supporting the Humane Society’s mission.
The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale.
