Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through January 22, 2024.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on 01/16/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,500. The victim advised that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and stolen the key and a passport. The victim advised he leaves his key inside the car so that he doesn`t lose it.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on 01/16/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,000. The victim advised that his vehicle, which was left unlocked, had a wallet and firearm stolen from within.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on 01/16/2024. The total estimated loss was $100. The victim reported two vehicles in his driveway were burglarized overnight. Both vehicles had unlocked car doors.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on 01/17/2024. The vehicle appeared to have a smashed-in driver-side window; nothing was taken from the car.
Theft
A victim of Theft – Bicycle on 01/20/2024. The total estimated loss was $7,000. A male entered the back patio of the business and walked away with the victim’s black bicycle.
A victim of Theft – Bicycle on 01/21/2024. The total estimated loss was $2,000. The victim advised that his bicycle was stolen inside a community storage unit at his complex.
A victim of Theft – All Other on 01/20/2024. The victim received a call from his bank, Wells Fargo, advising that an unknown person(s) was attempting to cash checks he had placed in a USPS mailbox outside the facility. It appears that the checks were “fished out” of the mailbox. Wells Fargo closed his account and kept the victim from losing monetary funds.
A victim of Auto Theft on 01/21/2024.
Information
Information on 01/18/2024. The reporting person had $8335 deposited into her bank account to buy Bitcoin from an unknown subject.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – All Other on 01/22/2024. The total estimated loss was $11,000. The reporter reported she was defrauded $11000 by an unknown subject.
A victim of Fraud – Credit Card / ATM on 01/21/2024. The total estimated loss was $2,400.
A victim of Fraud – Worthless Check on 01/19/2024. The victim advised that his check was fraudulently altered by an unknown person(s).
Trespassing
A victim of Trespassing on 01/19/2024. Squatters were found in a vacant home. The owner requested to trespass and prosecute them.
Arrests
Del Carpio, Alonso, Guido, 39, was arrested on a charge of Violation Injunction Protection Domestic Violence on 01/17/2024.
Haye, Rahsean, Andre, 25, was arrested on a charge of Touch or Strike/Battery/Dating Violence on 1/19/2024.
Harris, Antonio, 50, was arrested on a charge of Trespassing – Entry on Property Unlawfully on 1/19/2024.
Harris, Antonio, 50, was arrested on a charge of Fraud Impersonation, Use/Possession of ID of Another Person W/O Consent on 1/21/2024.
Wilson, Gary, Rudolph, 53, was arrested on a Drive While License Suspended 3 Or Subsequent Offense charge at 8800 W Commercial Blvd on 01/22/2024.
