
Aris Rivera. {JPT Baseball}
Former J.P. Taravella infielder Aris Rivera is set to play college baseball this season at Florida International University.
A 2022 graduate, Rivera began his collegiate career at Polk State College after hitting .276 with two home runs and driving in 13 runs. He went on to receive a scholarship as a sophomore and played in 55 of Polk State’s 58 games. Rivera batted .288 with one home run and 30 RBIs while also finishing third on the team with 10 doubles.
Rivera then went on to earn a Division I scholarship at the University of Central Florida. He hit .281/.361/.313 with five runs scored and four runs batted in, making four starts at catcher and three at designated hitter.
Rivera had a similar high school career, during which he played for three teams. He started his high school career at Nova before transferring to Westminster Academy. He finished at JPT and spent three years playing on the varsity team, also competing in travel baseball for the X Team. He hit .349 with a home run and 33 RBIs.
Rivera is set to join a college team that went 31-27 a season ago. They were knocked out of the Conference Tournament following losses to Western Kentucky and Kennesaw State University.
