Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through May 31, 2021.
Aggravated Assault
N State Rd 7
On May 27, two people were victims of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The offender was acting erratically and threatening both victims with a knife. The offender was arrested and transported to BSO Main Jail without incident.
Animal Abuse
S Nob Hill Cir
On May 31, a woman reported abuse and neglect of her four-month-old Chihuahua by a dog sitter.
Auto Theft
N University Dr
On May 26, a silver 2019 Honda Accord was reported stolen from a parking lot. There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle.
N University Dr
On May 26, a black 2018 Honda Accord was reported stolen from a residential development by unknown means. A BOLO was issued for the car.
Woodlands Blvd
On May 25, a silver 2020 Nissan Rogue was reported stolen.
NW 82nd Terr
On May 31, a silver 2018 Nissan Maxima was reported stolen. A BOLO was issued for the vehicle.
Battery
NW 78th Ave
On May 26, a woman was the victim of battery. A physical and verbal altercation occurred between the victim and an unidentified person. The victim did not want to press charges but wanted the person removed from her apartment. No medical attention was needed. The victim signed a waiver of prosecution.
Azalea Ct
On May 26, an 84-year-old man was the victim of felony battery. The victim was pushed by the suspect and suffered abrasions to his eye and inner arm.
NW 85th St
On May 26, a person was the victim of misdemeanor battery. The suspect threw a vase at the victim during an argument. The victim sustained a minor cut and did not want to press charges. The victim signed a waiver of prosecution.
Wing Stop, N University Dr
On May 27, a woman said she was the victim of an assault with pepper spray.
Lakeshore Dr
On May 29, a person was punched in the face. The offender was arrested and taken to BSO Mail Jail without incident.
Burglary Conveyance
NW 49th Dr
On May 25, a victim reported their vehicle burglarized. Sunglasses, cash, and a wallet were taken. Tot. Est. Loss: $42.
NW 71st Ave
On May 25, a man reported his vehicle burglarized. A computer was stolen from the vehicle and soon thereafter recovered in a neighbor`s yard. Tot. Est. Loss: $200.
Buttonwood Cir
On May 26, a man reported his vehicle burglarized. A wallet was stolen, and his credit cards were used for a Uber rental and cash withdrawals from an ATM. Tot. Est. Loss: $182.
Banyan Ln
On May 31, a man reported items stolen from his car parked in a driveway. Tot. Est. Loss: $982.
NW 47th Ave
On May 31, a victim reported the burglary of a conveyance. Tot. Est. Loss: $40.
Criminal Mischief
W Commercial Blvd
On May 27, a woman was the victim of criminal mischief to her vehicle, a blue Nissan Versa. The front driver’s side window of the car was shattered. Tot. Est. Loss: $3,000.
S Colony Cir
On May 28, a victim reported that a suspect scratched the doors of their vehicle with a key. Approximate value of damage: $400.
Domestic Disturbance
7000 block of NW 80th Ct
On May 26, a domestic disturbance (non-crime) was reported. Two people argued over a chicken that had died.
NW 62nd St
On May 31, a man reported a domestic disturbance (non-crime) between visitors outside his house.
Domestic Battery
NW 31st Ave
On May 30, police responded to the location about a domestic battery that occurred between the victim and a person she said grabbed her by the neck and threatened her. No injuries were reported. An out of custody affidavit was generated for a man named Bruce Howard.
Found Property
NW 80th Ave
On May 25, a person said they were walking on the sidewalk when they found a clear bag containing five rolled-up cigars filled with suspected cannabis. The items were entered into evidence for destruction.
Fraud
NW 46th St
On May 25, a victim reported fraud. The person’s account was used to make purchases online.
Information
5603 White Cedar Ln
On May 25, a person reported that their name was removed from a business by an ex-boyfriend.
N University Dr
On May 29, a woman requested to document a civil dispute in which a man stored her property while she was hospitalized. The woman said she could not get in contact with him, and it appears he is refusing her calls.
Missing Juvenile
NW 56th Ct
On May 29, a mother reported her juvenile daughter missing. The daughter was last seen on 5/28/2021 at approximately 11 a.m. The daughter was headed to an unknown location to participate in a photoshoot and refused to tell her mother the location.
Theft
Publix, N University Dr
On May 28, police met with a victim who said their cellphone device was accidentally left at the store. An unknown elderly W/F wearing a white coat, blue shorts, and khaki shorts discovered the lost phone and took it. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,299.
W Commercial Blvd
On May 26, a theft victim said he needed to make a police report so that he could be refunded for his stolen property. Tot. Est. Loss: $3,465.
Arrests
Lightfoot, William Wilton (W M, 47) was arrested on charges of Violation Of Probation ad Possession of Fentanyl on W. Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 5/28/2021.
Veve, Wisly (B M, 29) was arrested on charges of warrant/sleeping in public places at 3915 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 5/25/2021.
Mckenzie, Anthony Wade (B M, 56) was arrested on battery charges on a person 65 years of age or older on Azalea Ct, Tamarac, on 5/26/2021.
Samnath, Mark (A M, 34) was arrested on charges of violating an injunction within 500 feet of a residence/school/place of employment on NW 94th Ave, Tamarac, on 5/27/2021.
Vasquez, Enrique Alfonso (W M, 50) was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill on N. State Rd 7, Tamarac, on 5/27/2021.
Salguero, Jose Ignacio (W, M 26) was arrested on charges of Touch or Strike/battery/domestic violence on Lakeside Dr, Tamarac, on 5/29/2021.
