Events held by the Chabad Jewish Center have made the Chanukah even more special, and on the last night of Chanukah, they will be holding a Menorah lighting at Publix.

Held in the Publix in Tamarac Town Square at 8245 NW 88 Avenue on Thursday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m., Rabbi Koppel Silberberg said this event, like others, has Covid-19 safety precautions as their top priority.

“[The community] is concerned about our safety,” he said, “But once they hear we’re taking all the measures to do it safely, they’re happy to be able to do something to celebrate Chanukah.”

In addition to seeing the menorah lit, attendees can also expect dreidels, music, and donuts.

Earlier in the month, the Chabad is also hosting a Chanukah in the Park, Light Up Tamarac event, and a gift swap that people can partake in without leaving the comfort of their own homes.

It’s all part of creating events that everyone can participate in, regardless of their circumstances in this trying year.

“People are feeling in a dark place, and we just need to add the light,” said Rabbi Silberberg.
