Elvin Villalobos, Tamarac’s first elected Hispanic commissioner, will be sworn in on November 16.

At a special city commission meeting, the winners of the city’s November 3 election will be sworn in to office.
In District 1, Marlon Bolton will be sworn in once again, after a resounding win with almost 75 percent of the vote, against challenger Michelle Jones. In 2016, Bolton made history as the youngest and first Black commissioner elected.
History will be made once again as Elvin Villalobos, who unseated Commissioner Julie Fishman in a tight race for District 3, takes the oath of office. Villalobos, a real estate owner, will be the city’s first Hispanic commissioner and the first person elected who doesn’t live in the Kings Point community.
Only city officials, staff, and invited guests are allowed into the city hall chambers or an extra meeting room where they will watch on a monitor; however, the public can watch it live or on-demand at City Commission Meetings.
The swearing-in ceremony takes place Monday, November 16, at 10:00 a.m.
