Crime update Tamarac burglaries

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crimes through December 14.

Aggravated Battery

5311 N State Road 7
On December 10, an Unknown subject with an unknown motive stabbed the victim in the shoulder. The subject fled on foot.

Auto Theft

3800 W Commercial Blvd – La Quinta
On December 11, a subject took the victim’s 2016 Hyundai Accent during the overnight hours without her permission.

Battery

2200 block of NW 52nd Ct
On December 12, BSO Investigated allegations of a boyfriend and girlfriend getting into a physical altercation when the boyfriend grabbed the girlfriend by the throat and choked her. The boyfriend fled the scene before BSO’s arrival. Sworn statements and photographs were provided.

Burglary to a Business

2401 W Commercial Blvd – Speedway
On December 10, BSO responded to an audible alarm at the Speedway gas station. The door was smashed and $1,416.78 worth of cigarettes stolen.

5500 block of NW 50th Ter – Manor Parc
On December 9, unknown suspects entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle. Incident captured on surveillance video. Crime scene processed.

6000 block of N Sabal Palm Blvd – Sabal Palm
On December 11, an unknown subject(s) entered the victim’s vehicle and removed items.

Burglary Residence

8000 block of NW 74th Ter
On December 7, two juveniles unlawfully entered the car porch of a residence and stole a bike.

Criminal Mischief

8500 block of NW 61st St
On December 9, the reporting person stated the father of her children kicked the front door of her apartment, damaging the door’s frame. The person did not want to press charges and signed a waiver of prosecution.

Domestic Disturbance

5050 block of Island Club Dr
On December 12, BSO responded about a Domestic Disturbance involving a firearm.

Information

I6300 block of NW 72nd Ave
On December 9, an unknown person sent text messages and threats via phone regarding having an affair with a mistress.

Grand Theft

7600 block of NW 68th Ter
On December 11, BSO responded to the above-listed location about the theft of a $950 Gucci purse. The victim described the suspect, who was later identified and apprehended. The purse was retrieved and returned. The victim wished to prosecute.

Fire

7800 block of NW 66th Ter
On December 8, a residential structure fire started from a propane torch the homeowner was using to burn weeds on the residence’s Southside. Severe structural damage to the residence’s wall and the ceiling was deemed unsafe for the residence to reside.

4500 block of Treehouse Ln – Arbor Keys Apartments
On December 10, Tamarac Fire Rescue was conducting a check of the apartment complex during which time they discovered a small gas leak from the 500-gallon in-ground tank

Shooting/Unlawful Discharge

3800 W Commercial Blvd – La Quinta Inn
On December 8, an unknown suspect unlawfully discharged his handgun in the front lobby of La Quinta during a fight involving multiple people. No one was injured.

Theft

4161 W Commercial Blvd – Publix Liquors
On December 10, the manager advised that a male made entry into the liquor store with a Christmas bag and stole 5 bottles.

6701 Hiatus Rd – City Furniture
On December 7, a complainant reported a tag and decal were stolen from a City Furniture vehicle.

5901 Madison Ave – Arrigo Chrysler Dodge Jeep
On December 9, Car dealership reported missing dealer tags. The time frame of occurrence is unknown

Arrest

Thomson, Christine (W F, 34) was arrested for Possession Of Cocaine at 3915 Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 12/08/2020.

Berroa Baez, Daniel Alberto (W M, 24) was arrested for Battery-touch Or Strike at 7537 Black Olive Ave, Tamarac, on 12/13/2020.
