Crime Update: Shootings and Fraud in Tamarac

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through June 14, 2021.

Aggravated Assault

University Dr

On June 10, a person was the victim of Aggravated Assault.

Buttonwood Cir

On June 13, a person was the victim of Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon and Kidnapping.

Battery

Lagos De Campo Blvd

On June 8, a person was the victim of Battery. A suspect was taken into custody and transported to the BSO Main Jail.

W McNab Rd

On June 8, a man was the victim of Battery. The victim was working on a street corner when the defendant struck him twice and fled the area. The victim refused medical assistance. The defendant was located, interviewed by a detective, and transported to jail for booking.

Burglary Conveyance

Commercial Blvd

On June 10, a person was the victim of Burglary Conveyance. Tot. Est. Loss: $3,150.

5700 block of Rock Island Rd

On June 10, a person was the victim of Burglary Conveyance. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,505. Four other vehicles were broken into around the same time in the same area.

NW 46th St

On June 12, a caller advised her vehicle was burglarized overnight. A canvass showed there were multiple burglary attempts throughout the neighborhood.

Burglary Residence

NW 26th Ave

On June 8, a man was the victim of Burglary Conveyance. He had $80 removed from the middle console of his gray Toyota Corolla.

Yardley Dr

On June 9, a person was the victim of Burglary Residence. An unknown suspect made forced entry into the residence and burglarized it. Tot. Est. Loss: $8,995.

Fire

8931 NW 78th Pl

On June 12, a fire was reported in the Lakeview Flats apartments. The cause was a wiring issue. The building was evacuated without incident and no injuries were reported.

Fraud/Impersonation

N Pine Island Rd

On June 10, a victim of Fraud-Impersonation was reported. Tot. Est. Loss: $7,000.

NW 73rd Ave

On June 11, an unknown person(s) filed for unemployment benefits in the victim’s name.

Rescue

8301 W Commercial Blvd

On June 12, a man suffered an overdose at Comfort Suites. Narcan was administered, and he was transported to University Medical Center.

Retail Theft

W Commercial Blvd

On June 13, an incident of Theft-Retail/Shoplifting was reported at Walgreens. Three unidentified males shoplifted multiple items worth a total of $78.03. The subjects left the scene in a white Nissan Altima. A BSO Theft Victim Affidavit was signed by the store manager.

Robbery

On June 10, a robbery was reported at CVS, 6900 N University Dr.

Shooting

NW 52nd St

On June 9, a man was the victim of a Shooting/Unlawful Discharge. The man accidentally shot his hand while cleaning his firearm.

7300 block of NW 59th St

On June 12, a Shooting/Unlawful Discharge was reported. A male subject was shooting his weapon in his backyard.

Arrests

Solorzano, Vlanca, 57, was arrested on charges of Touch or Strike/battery/Domestic Viol at Lagos De Campo Blvd, Tamarac, on 06/08/2021.

Nesbitt, Ian, 37, was arrested on charges of Battery-touch or Strike on McNab Rd, Tamarac, on 06/08/2021.

Chery, Kervens, 22, was arrested on charges of Robbery-No Firearm or Weapon on N University Dr, Tamarac, on 06/10/2021.

Pearce, Nick Storm, 30, was arrested on charges of Battery-Cause Bodily Harm-Domestic Violence on W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 06/11/2021.

Garrett, Samuel, 33, was arrested for an outstanding warrant on Treehouse Ln, Tamarac, on 06/12/2021.
