Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through May 15.
Auto Theft
A victim of Auto Theft on NW 57 Street was reported on 05/09/2023. The victim’s 2022 Grey Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot without forced entry.
A victim of Auto Theft – Motorcycle on NW 61 Street was reported on 05/10/2023. The victim’s motorcycle was taken from her residence.
A victim of Auto Theft on Madison Avenue was reported on 05/12/2023. Unknown suspects stole a red 2020 Infiniti Q50 off the dealership parking lot.
A victim of Auto Theft on Rock Island Road was reported on 05/10/2023. The victim parked her 2013 Infiniti in front of her apartment in the morning. When she came out, she realized her vehicle was gone. The key was likely left in the unlocked vehicle.
A victim of Auto Theft on Southgate Blvd was reported on 05/10/2023. The owner advised her 2016 Nissan Altima was stolen from the parking lot. The owner left the key fob in the vehicle.
Fraud – All Other
A victim of Fraud – All Other on Ashmont Circle was reported on 05/09/2023. The reporting person claims a forged signature of his aunts was used on a Florida quit claim deed for the listed residence.
A victim of Fraud – Credit Card / Atm on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 05/10/2023. The total estimated loss was: $789.
A victim of Fraud – All Other NW 88 Avenue was reported on 05/10/2023. The total estimated loss was: $386.
Fraud – Credit Card / Atm
A victim of Fraud – Credit Card / Atm was reported on 5/12/2023. The total estimated loss was: $3798.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on N University Drive was reported on 05/11/2023. The total estimated loss was: $113. Two female suspects arrived at the store and removed items from the shelves. One suspect managed to leave the store with merchandise worth $ 127.19.
A victim of Theft -Retail / Shoplifting on N Pine Island Road was reported on 05/12/2023. The total estimated loss was: $519. Two unknown males entered the business and stole 2 Hayward Pool Vacuums.
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 05/15/2023. The total estimated loss was: $547.
Robbery
A victim of Robbery on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 05/11/2023. The total estimated loss was: $89. An unknown female entered the store and attempted to steal several comforters valued at $159.97. As the suspect tried to exit the store, an employee attempted to prevent the suspect from leaving the store. The suspect pointed a pepper spray can in the employee’s direction. The suspect then fled the scene with the merchandise.
Theft -All Other
A victim of Theft -All Other on Nob Hill Road was reported on 05/12/2023. The total estimated loss was: $2,140.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 05/15/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,320.
Arrests
Taylor, Alonzo Auguste, 25, was arrested on a Violation Injunction Protection Domestic Violence charge at Corkwood Terrace on 05/09/2023.
Taneka Walls, 38, was arrested on a Warrant/Petit Theft/Resist charge on N State Road 7 on 5/10/2023.
Cruz, Reyn, 38, was arrested on a charge of Fraud – Swindle – Obtain Property Under 20K Dollars on N University Drive on 5/11/2023.
Vazquez Ortiz, Cesar, Lemuel, 30, was arrested on a Grand Theft Of A Motor Vehicle charge on N Road 7/W Prospect Road on 5/14/2023.
