Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through April 12.
Auto Theft
6000 block of Magnolia Circle – The Woodlands
On April 8, the deputy spoke with owner of the vehicle who advised she left the key FOB inside her vehicle, which was taken sometime overnight.
Battery
5300 block of NW 49th Way – Mainlands of Tamarac Lakes
On April 8, the victim advised that she and her daughter were having a verbal argument which led to her daughter spitting in her face. The daughter was arrested and taken to the BSO Main Jail.
Domestic Battery/Aggravated Battery
7800 block of NW 70th Ave – Heathgate
On April 9, the caller advised a male slapped and scratched his girlfriend during an argument. A tenant who is dating the girlfriend’s daughter attempted to intervene and was struck on the arm with a broomstick. He was charged accordingly and transported to the main jail.
Burglary Conveyance
7700 block of NW 74th Terrace – Heathgate
On April 9, the male victim noticed a male suspect and an additional unidentified subject had made entry into the vehicles in his driveway. A wireless adapter was taken. The suspect was apprehended and transported to jail.
5600 block and 5700 block of Melaleuca Drive – The Woodlands
On April 13, two victims reported a delayed burglary conveyance to their unlocked vehicles overnight. Nothing was taken from inside the vehicles. The vehicles were processed for latent prints, and the area was canvased for video surveillance.
Burglary Residence
6000 block of Shakerwood Circle – Shakerwood Village
On April 10, the victim’s ex-boyfriend gained entry into her apartment and physically battered her prior to fleeing the area in a dark-colored Audi in an unknown direction. The suspect and victim had been engaged in an intimate relationship for the past three years, which recently dissolved 4-months ago.
Criminal Mischief
4400 block of Treehouse Lane – Arbor Keys
On April 10, the male victim reported his vehicle being vandalized for an approximate loss of $1,000.
Fraud
9300 Nw 58th Street – Caporella Aquatic Center
On April 7, the 18-year-old victim was given three $20 counterfeit bills in exchange for Apple Airpods.
9500 block of Weldon Circle – Weldon Condos
On April 10, deputies responded out to document a fraud/scam that started over the phone and lead to a parking lot where the victim was scammed into giving out all of her bank and personal information.
Information
8852 West McNab Road – Greens of Tamarac
On April 7, a male found a live rifle round at his front door. There were no known threats against his life at the time. It was unknown who left the round.
6000 block of Shakerwood Circle – Shakerwood
On April 11, the resident got into an argument with the USPS Mail Carrier over the delivery of a package.
Property Damage
6300 block of Landings Terrace – University Landings
On April 8, the reporting person advised the front of her gray Chevrolet had been damaged while it was parked at her residence.
Shooting/Unlawful Charge
6300 block of NW 62nd Street – Bermuda Club Condos
On April 9, the victim was involved in a minor accident with a green Honda. Both vehicles pulled onto Bailey Rd, when the driver of the Honda opened the door, partially stepped out of the vehicle and fired a handgun at the victim’s Chevy truck, striking the front hood. A .380 Hornady bullet casing was recovered from the scene.
7999 West Mcnab Road/Lagos De Campo Blvd
On April 10, after the response of a shooting at the location, the subject was positively identified by one of the victims as the subject who shot at them while they occupied their Mini Cooper. He was charged with three counts of Homicide/Willfull Kill/Murder Premeditated and three counts of Weapon Offense – Missile into Dwelling, Vehicle or Aircraft, and transported to Main Jail without further incident.
Theft – motor vehicle, parts
5700 block of Rock Island Road – Lexington on the Green Condos
On April 9, an unknown suspect removed all four tires from the victim’s vehicle overnight.
Theft – retail, shoplifting
8790 West McNab Road – Walgreens Pharmacy
On April 11, an unknown male and female removed multiple items from the store and left, passing all points of sale without paying. The suspects fled in a white U-haul 2-door pick-up truck southbound on North Pine Island Road.
4999 North State Road 7 – 7-eleven
On April 11, an unknown male selected two cases of Heineken beer and exited the store without paying for the items.
Theft – All other
5600 block of Rock Island Road – Sunvista Apartments
On April 12, the caller advised she argued with her girlfriend, and her girlfriend left the house and stole her gun overnight.
