The grand opening of the Dirty Dog’s Car Wash North Lauderdale location took place on September 16, welcoming the city’s newest business in an event that featured community members, local officials, and a showcase of the franchise’s top-notch car wash services.
The grand opening event of the Dirty Dog’s 1821 South State Road 7 location featured a lively atmosphere with various activities and entertainment, showcasing the playful environment with which the Dirty Dog’s chain has become synonymous. The festivities included music by DJ Myron, performances by the Anderson Boyd drumline, and food by Traffic Man BBQ.
Attendees were also treated to complimentary car washes, allowing them to experience Dirty Dog’s state-of-the-art 135-foot express wash tunnel with micro-fiber soft wraps, hot wax, spot-free rinse, tire shine, and the only buff and dry in the area.
Peter Mason, the Executive Director of the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, expressed his excitement about the new addition to the city, telling Tamarac Talk, “This new professional car wash business is a big aesthetic improvement to the City of North Lauderdale,” adding the Dirty Dog’s curb appeal fits in perfectly with one of the city’s biggest attractions.
“The Fire Station look is great and ties in with the North Lauderdale Fire training tower, attracting Fire and Rescue organizations worldwide.”
Randy Smith, the franchisee of the North Lauderdale location, shared his excitement about opening the North Lauderdale location, communicating with Tamarac Talk about how memorable the grand opening event was.
“The grand opening was amazing as we were blown away with the turnout from the city,” Smith shared, “The list of attendees was incredible, including everyone from North Lauderdale Mayor Borgelin, Vice Mayor Bustamante, City Manager Michael Sargis, and Commissioner Dee Lewis-Ricketts, to North Lauderdale Fire Chief Turpel and firefighters and BSO.”
Smith highlighted the event’s significance, stating, “We wanted to show appreciation to the community, so we had the DJ there to provide music and energy, and this was our official Grand Opening, so we had our ribbon cutting to signify we are a part of the community.”
Smith emphasized that the overwhelming support from the community has been incredibly comforting, particularly after several prolonged building delays, frustrating at times since the process started after Dirty Dog’s originally purchased the property in 2020.
Looking ahead, Dirty Dog’s Car Wash has exciting promotions and events planned, including unlimited membership plans, special early bird discounts, and even a Haunted Tunnel experience for Halloween.
Smith tells Tamarac Talk his hopes that the community sees Dirty Dog’s as much more than a carwash but as a pivotal piece of its local business underbelly and support system for years to come.
“We want to get involved and bring special community events and help where we can to support this community; it supports our mission statement — First in Service. First in Community.”
