J.P. Taravella pitcher EJ Burns threw a gem on Saturday, tossing a complete game shutout against NSU University School in a 1-0 victory.
The Florida Gulf Coast University signee allowed only one hit while striking out seven. Tyler Morgan recorded the Trojans’ lone RBI. Peyton Morgan, Sebastian Mayfield, Jake Miller, and AJ Perry all had hits to push JPT to their sixth straight win.
The Trojans are now 9-3 this year and will play Cypress Bay High School in their next game on Wednesday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m. The Lightning are 2-7 this year but beat JPT 2-1 in their only meeting last season.
