An evening of comedy will raise cancer awareness and honor those affected by the disease during Ha-Ha’s 2026 annual nonprofit event in Tamarac.

Presented by Mayor Michelle J. Gomez and PuroClean, the event will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at Colony West Golf Club, 6850 NW 88th Ave.

Held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the high-energy evening will combine entertainment and community connection while supporting individuals and families affected by cancer.

Nationally recognized comedian Derek Richards will headline the event. Known for his energetic delivery and sharp humor, Richards has appeared on BlazeTV, Amazon Prime, Dry Bar Comedy and SiriusXM.

His fast-paced comedy draws from his Irish Catholic upbringing, modern life, and his experience as a 26-year cancer survivor. Richards also appeared in the film “Don’t Suck,” featuring Matt Rife and Jamie Kennedy, and has released four comedy albums and a memoir.

Guests will also enjoy performances by other comedians, chef-prepared hors d’oeuvres and desserts, soft drinks and a limited silent auction. A full cash bar will be available.

Tickets range from $75 to $150. Register here.

Organizers are inviting attendees to submit photos of loved ones affected by cancer for a slideshow displayed throughout the evening. Photos may recognize someone currently battling cancer, remember someone who died from the disease, or honor a survivor.

Email submissions to Photos@Tamarac.org by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23. Each submission should include the person’s name and indicate whether the recognition is “In Support,” “In Memory,” or “In Honor.”
