Harbor Freight Tools announced on Tuesday that it will open a new store in Sunrise this fall, creating 25 to 30 jobs in the community.
The store will be located at 12605 W. Sunrise Blvd. Construction is already underway, with local contractors and workers contributing to the project. An official opening date will be released later this year.
“We’ve been looking to open another location in Sunrise for a number of years so that we can provide the tools and equipment at tremendous values to the community,” said Trey Feiler, senior vice president of real estate and construction at Harbor Freight. “In addition to finding a great location, we were attracted by the availability of great associates in the Sunrise area, and we look forward to having them join the Harbor Freight team.”
The company said the store will offer positions including sales and logistics supervisors, senior associates, sales associates, and seasonal roles. Jobs come with competitive starting pay and a benefits package that includes health coverage, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas off.
Harbor Freight employs more than 1,100 people in Florida and more than 26,000 nationwide. With more than 1,600 stores nationwide, it has been named a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years and has been recognized by Forbes as one of the top large U.S. retail employers.
Founded in 1977 as a mail-order business in California, the family-owned retailer has grown into one of the nation’s fastest-growing tool chains, serving more than 75 million professional and DIY customers.
