Laugh for a good cause as Ha-Ha’s for the Tatas, the city’s annual cancer awareness fundraiser, returns.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 11, at the Colony West Golf Club, located at 6850 Northwest 88th Avenue. Mayor Michelle J. Gomez will host the evening, which features a comedy lineup including opener Mariza Brussolo, featured act Flip Schultz, and headliner Missy Hall.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the chef’s signature hors d’oeuvres, soft drinks, and a cash bar. At 8:00 p.m., the program begins with an awareness conversation, followed by live and silent auctions. The comedy show kicks off at 8:30 p.m.
This year’s fundraiser will benefit Gilda’s Club South Florida, the American Cancer Society, and the Tamarac Employee Benevolent Fund.
Guests will also have the chance to bid on auction items, including a private in-home wine tasting for 12 featuring eight boutique wines donated by PRP Wine International, a 10K yellow gold heart and infinity necklace with natural diamonds valued at more than $1,100 donated by Nina’s Jewelry and Watches, and rare collectible sports memorabilia.
Tickets range from $75 to $150 per person and can be purchased online here until October 6. Checks will also be accepted at Tamarac City Hall until October 8 at 5:00 p.m., with “Ha-Ha’s” noted in the memo line. Ticket availability at the door cannot be guaranteed.
Attendees are also encouraged to submit photos of their Cancer Warriors by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, to Photos@Tamarac.org. Submissions should include the name of the Cancer Warrior and indicate whether the recognition is in support, in memory, or in honor. These photos will be displayed in a slideshow throughout the evening.
Sponsorship opportunities remain available. For more information on ticket sales or sponsorships, email MayorGomezEvents@Tamarac.org or call 954-597-3460.
