A young woman was accosted on August 4th by an armed robber with a southern accent who threatened her life for the money in the hotel register.
An armed robber with a southern drawl confronted Jonelle Moreau, 20, as she worked the reception desk of the Comfort Suites in Tamarac early Sunday evening. At first the man casually asked for a room, but the situation quickly turned sinister when he pulled out a gun from his waistband and pointed it at Moreau, demanding she turn over the money in the cash register.
Initially the victim attempted to hide, but the thief threatened to chase her if she tried to run. Nervously, she returned and handed him all the cash in the register. The suspect exited through the front door and was seen by witnesses as he left the area on foot.
