Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through July 27.
Auto Theft
5750 NW 64th Ave – Bermuda Club
On July 23, a 2019 Honda Pilot was reported stolen.
Battery
5800 block of W Commercial Blvd
On July 23, the victim said her fiancé and her got into a verbal altercation in reference to their open relationship. She stated that he was upset because she made claims of leaving him for possibly another man, He, then in anger, wrapped both of his arms around her and body-slammed her against the headboard of her mattress causing her facial injuries.
Burglary Conveyance
8191 W Commercial Blvd – Inn-Town Suites
On July 25, the victim’s 2015 silver Kia Optima was burglarized without forced entry, as the doors were left unlocked. The victim’s 9mm Glock 19 handgun was stolen from under the driver’s front seat.
8100 block of W McNab Rd – Concord Village
On July 25, an unknown subject entered the victim’s 1997 Mercury Tracer and stole the handicap placard from the glove box.
Criminal Mischief
2250 block of NW 52nd Ct
On July 25, an unknown suspect threw a brick through the victim’s window.
Domestic Disturbance
4900 block of NW 27th Ave – Tamarac Lakes South
On July 25, a girlfriend advised that she and her boyfriend had a verbal argument because the boyfriend accused her of seeing someone else. She advised her boyfriend prevented her from leaving the residence by blocking her with his arm. Once entering her vehicle, the reporting she stated the boyfriend punched the hood of her vehicle while leaving the parking lot.
Fire
7140 block of N Pine Island Rd
On July 24, sign on closed business caught on fire, damaging the isolated letter. No tampering suspected, Tamarac Fire Rescue investigated on scene.
Found Property
4899 Nw 55th Pl – Manor Park
On July 25, while on the scene of a Burglary, BSO recovered a lost debit card and was unable to locate the owner.
Information
8200 block of Nw 68th Ter
On July 21, the caller stated her neighbor saw a vehicle pull up to her mailbox then fled. Unknown if anything was stolen from the mailbox.
10086 W McNab Rd – Tamarac Plaza
On July 22, an abandoned vehicle was set on fire in the back of Tamarac Plaza. It appeared the vehicle, a white 2014 Infiniti Q50, had been stripped for parts and set ablaze. Contact was made with the owner, who stated it was an unreported stolen vehicle. Lauderdale Lakes District was notified of a report.
Lost Property
7800 block of Nw 78th Ave – Avalon Estates
On July 22, the reporting person accidentally threw away two firearms.
Suspicious Incident
6200 John Horan Ter – Saint Malachy Catholic Church
On July 25, a suspicious lockbox was located in front of the main entry doors to the church. The lockbox was deemed safe and checked. Contents of lockbox were religious cards and proverb writings
Retail Theft
3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On July 23, BSO spoke with the manager on duty via landline who advised two unknown males entered the store and removed several items from the shelves and exited the store without paying.
4161 W Commercial Blvd – Publix Liquor Store
On July 23, an unknown male entered the store selected five bottles of alcohol, and exited the store without paying for the items.
4121 W Commercial Blvd – Publix
On July 24, the subject entered the Publix, selected food items and exited the store without paying for the items. The total loss was approximately $13.88.
Shooting/Unlawful Discharge
4500 block of NW 16th Way – Tamarac Lakes
On July 25, the victim advised he accidentally shot himself in the leg while attempting to remove the firearm from his waistband while sitting inside his vehicle. The victim was visibly drunk upon our arrival.
Theft
6300 block of Landings Ter – The Landings
On July 21, complainant advised that at 11:37 p.m. on Tuesday 7/22/2020, an unknown suspect(s) removed the Ring spotlight camera that was mounted on the exterior of her residence.
9600 block of N Belfort Cir – Kings Point
On July 24, an unknown person(s) stole Jewelry from the victim’s residence.
Trespassing
8301 W Commercial Blvd – Comfort Suites
On July 23, a subject was seen loitering around the area of the hotel for the past several days. The subject was seen trespassing by hotel staff in BSO’s presence.

Garcia, Alexandra Juliette (W F, 22) Arrest on charges of Larc-commit Grand Theft Damage Over 1000 Dols at 5002 Bayberry Ln, Tamarac, on 07/21/2020.
Ragoonan, Shandon (B M, 22) Arrest on charges of Felony Battery domestic Viol at SAMPER, H. S. 5801 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 07/23/2020.
