A Lauderhill man was arrested on charges he made a false report about gunfire at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Tuesday morning, authorities said.
According to Broward Sheriff’s Office investigators, Datron Devonne Roscoe, 37, of 951 NW 34th Terr., called the Broward County Regional Communications Emergency dispatch around 12:30 a.m. and said there was going to “be a big guns fight shootout at the airport” and “there’s gonna be a lot of gunfire call everybody.”
Deputies and BSO Threat Management Unit detectives rushed to the airport to investigate. They found Roscoe at Terminal 4, where he was taken into custody, according to BSO.
The threat was determined to be unfounded, authorities said.
Roscoe is currently being held at the county’s Main Jail on one count of false reporting concerning the use of a firearm and one count of misuse of 911.
The investigation is ongoing, according to BSO.
