Lauderhill Woman Shot; Dies After Driving Herself to Broward Health North

By Kevin Deutsch

A Lauderhill woman was shot early Sunday and died after driving herself to Broward Health North hospital, authorities said.

Investigators believe Anaysha Donjoie, 20, was shot somewhere in Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives on Monday were still working to determine where and how Donjoie was struck by gunfire, as well as who shot her.

BSO Pompano Beach District deputies responded to two activations of ShotSpotter, the gunfire detection system, around 3:09 a.m. Sunday: one near North Cypress Road and Copans Road and another near the 40 block of Northeast 23rd Street.

A short time later, 911 operators received a call from Donjoie, stating she had been shot and was driving herself to Broward Health North, according to BSO.

BSO deputies from Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach responded to the hospital to investigate. There, they found Donjoie inside her vehicle. She had crashed into a tree and was rushed into the hospital by emergency room staff.

Doctors exhausted all life-saving measures and pronounced Donjoie dead at 3:24 a.m., authorities said.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the killing to call BSO Homicide Detective Gino Parram at 954-321-4211 or to submit a tip through the SaferWatch App.

Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), submit a tip online at browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.

Any information that leads to an arrest in the case is eligible for a reward of up to $5,000, according to BSO.
