A fatal hit-and-run crash left a man dead late Sunday night in Tamarac.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, around 10:54 p.m., a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Northwest 31st Avenue and West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac was reported. BSO deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
BSO is not releasing the name of the victim.
According to BSO, the driver of an unknown vehicle was driving eastbound through the intersection when the vehicle struck the male. When he was struck, the male was crossing southbound near the crosswalk on the west side of the intersection. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased on scene. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the crash.
