Tamarac State of the City address by Mayor Michelle Gomez. {City of Tamarac}
Dear Neighbors,
July is here, with plenty of fun in the sun for the whole family, as well as our country’s birthday to celebrate! As you get ready to enjoy our Independence Day festivities and the other wonderful events we have planned this month, please keep the following in mind:
Safety Reminder: The use of firecrackers and fireworks BEFORE OR AFTER Independence Day is illegal, dangerous, and can cause severe distress for Combat Veterans, neighbors suffering from medical conditions, pets, and wildlife. Please report the illegal use of fireworks to BSO at their non-emergency line: (954) 764-4357.
Looking for a low-impact way to keep moving this summer? Try our new free walking club! The group meets the first Wednesday of each month, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Energy Fitness Station at Mainlands Park, 4500 Monterey Drive. This month the group will meet on Wednesday, July 2nd, and next month’s meet-up will be Wednesday, August 6th. No pre-registration required, just wear your walking gear and bring water and a towel.
Do you like to sing? If so, then you won’t want to miss this month’s Karaoke Night at The View at Colony West, also on July 2nd, hosted by the premier team from Sounds of Stardom. The event will now be 4 hours, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., to accommodate the great show their team puts on. Come enjoy musical fun, cocktails and chef’s specials in a beautiful venue with a terrific view!
