Judge Kenneth Gillespie of Tamarac was recognized with the Executive Director’s Award at the Broward County Bar Association’s (BCBA) 2025 Annual Installation Dinner & Gala, held June 21 at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale. The event marked the BCBA’s 100th anniversary and celebrated distinguished members of the judiciary for their service to the legal profession and community.
Judge Gillespie, who serves as the Administrative Judge of the Probate Division in the 17th Judicial Circuit, was honored for his outstanding commitment, loyalty, and service to the Bar and the broader legal community.
“I am both honored and humbled by this recognition,” said Judge Gillespie. “Personally, it reinforces a principle I’ve always instilled in my children: ‘Commit and follow through.’ Once you commit, it becomes your responsibility to follow through.”

Judge Jeffrey R. Levenson.
Also honored during the evening was Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey R. Levenson, who received the Stephen R. Booher Award, presented for his humanity, integrity, and dedication to the Bench, Bar, and community. Judge Levenson currently serves in the Circuit Civil Division.
Chief Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips applauded both honorees, stating, “…Their dedication and contributions to the legal community are truly commendable.”
Judge Levenson shared his gratitude as well. “I share this recognition with the dedicated judges, attorneys, judicial assistants, deputies, and clerks who are the backbone of our courthouse,” he said. “The people of Broward County are fortunate to have the support of the BCBA, an organization deeply committed to justice, ethics, legal education, and public service.”
The 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, serves Broward County and is the second-largest circuit in the state, with 90 judges across four courthouses.
