A woman is charged with two counts of aggravated battery involving a deadly weapon for using a kitchen knife to stab her ex-boyfriend on two separate occasions.

On October 18, Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence in Tamarac in response to a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, they discovered a victim with a minor puncture wound to his lower right leg. The victim told deputies the wound had been inflicted by his ex-girlfriend, Widjina Laguerre, 25, of North Lauderdale.

According to the victim, he returned home around and noticed Laguerre’s vehicle parked outside. Hearing voices coming from the bedroom, he initially went to the bathroom. Upon exiting, he confronted Laguerre in the living room about the presence of an unknown male subject in their bedroom.

The victim told deputies he accused Laguerre of infidelity and took her phone, demanding sexual activity, but she did not respond verbally but sat beside him on the bed.

An argument ensued, with the victim hurling derogatory terms at Laguerre, who began to cry. When Laguerre tried to retrieve her phone, the victim followed her. At that point, Laguerre allegedly brandished a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the right leg.

According to the arrest report, following the attack, she retrieved a towel to stop the bleeding and allegedly asked the victim to stab her back to “even the score.”

When he refused, Laguerre fled the scene out of fear of law enforcement.

Medical records show the victim was treated on the scene and transported to a local hospital for treatment of his wound. While at the hospital, he revealed a prior unreported incident in which Laguerre had also stabbed him.

According to the victim, on October 14, Laguerre stabbed him with a kitchen knife during an argument about her interactions with other men. That incident left a puncture scar on the victim’s right hand, but he chose not to report it at the time.

Laguerre was subsequently located, taken into custody, and charged with two separate felony charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

She was transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
