Sheriff Scott Israel dropped into the National Night Out event in Tamarac. Literally.
Israel, who arrived via the Broward Sheriff’s Office chopper, made a grand entrance on Tuesday night – which was the only way he could make the 11 other events simultaneously occurring around the county.
The annual National Night Out event is celebrated around the country to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
Members of the Tamarac BSO district were on hand, Citizen Observer Patrol volunteers, along with a special visit by the 501st Legion Everglades Squad in their Star Wars uniforms. There was a petting zoo, lots of BSO equipment to check out, live demonstrations and free food.
