Cast a line alongside local law enforcement heroes at this year’s Catch Me if You Can fishing event hosted by the Broward Sheriff’s Office North Lauderdale District and the City of North Lauderdale.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 5, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Hampton Pines Park Shelter #7, located at 7800 Hampton Boulevard. Along with the fishing, attendees will enjoy free food, drinks, and ice cream and have the chance to participate in raffle giveaways.
Fishing poles will not be provided; the event is strictly catch and release. Bait fishing and net fishing will not be permitted. Children are welcome to participate but must always be accompanied by an adult.
Deputy Jessie Alvarez said they were happy to provide an opportunity for the community to fish alongside the officers. “We’ll teach them the fundamentals of fishing, safety, and catch and release, all while having positive interactions and building bonds.”
For any questions, contact Deputy J. Alvarez, at 954-722-5800 or at jessica_alvarez@sheriff.org.
