Restaurant Bingo Returns to the City of Tamarac

By Kevin Maher

Throughout the month of October, local foodies have the chance to win prizes while supporting Tamarac’s small business restaurants.

Players can support over 60 local restaurants by spending $10 each time they dine in, take out, or order delivery from participating Tamarac restaurants. In exchange, they will receive restaurant bingo stickers that can be placed on their bingo cards, which are available here or at participating restaurants.

Once players have five stickers in a row, they can submit their winning bingo cards by emailing info@FlavorsofTamarac.com or texting 954-410-3177.

Players can also win by posting selfies at participating restaurants and tagging @flavorsoftamarac on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with #TamaracBingo.

Every week in October, five $50 restaurant gift certificates will be drawn for winning bingo cards, and two $50 prizes will be drawn for the best selfies. All entries will automatically be entered into a grand prize drawing where one player will win a $250 restaurant gift card.

Restaurant Bingo is the second annual Savor the Flavors Tamarac initiative hosted by the City’s Economic Development Division. The city’s goal is to encourage support of Tamarac’s small business restaurants, many of which continue to be impacted by COVID-19.

“It challenges people to look at different restaurants and help local businesses,” said Woodmount Country Club Restaurant’s General Manager Joe Decaro.

Located at 7801 NW 80 Ave., Woodmont Country Club is one of the participating restaurants either categorized under Asian, American, Caribbean, Italian, and Latin flavors.  Woodmont’s is American.

Jamaican restaurant Butter Flakes Bakery & Grill, at 5100 W Commercial Blvd., is classified under Caribbean. Players who have never tried Jamaican food shouldn’t hesitate because of unknown flavors, though, according to the chef and part owner Harry Sinclair.

“Our menu is not just for Caribbean people,” Sinclair said. “Jamaican food is an international food, we cook for everybody.”
