A manhunt ended with authorities successfully apprehending a suspect who allegedly threatened to stab multiple people at a Lauderhill 7-Eleven convenience store with a pair of scissors.

On December 27, the Lauderhill Police Department responded to the 7-Eleven located at 5590 West Oakland Park Blvd after multiple 911 calls reported two victims had been aggressively approached and threatened with a pair of scissors by a man, later identified as Timothy Joseph Law, 33, of Dania Beach.

Upon arrival, LPD officers spoke to witnesses and two victims, one being a plaza security guard. The group described a chaotic scene in which Law raised his voice and approached the first victim, a female, inside the 7-Eleven in a threatening manner while brandishing a pair of scissors.

The report does not indicate if the woman was a 7-Eleven employee or customer at the time of the assault.

The situation escalated further when Law abruptly left the store, leaving the first victim shaken and calling the police before a plaza security guard arrived and was also confronted by Law, scissors in hand.

The security guard told officers Law took two steps in his direction, prompting him to issue loud verbal commands, forcing Law to stop and flee on foot towards the plaza’s east end.

Officers searched the area for a prolonged period and eventually located Law hiding in a neighboring plaza at 2996 Northwest 55th Avenue.

Upon stopping him, officers questioned Law about the presence of scissors on his person, which Law admitted to be carrying.

Law was detained for further investigation, and the scissors were recovered from his front left pocket. The security guard assisting in the search positively identified Law as the individual involved in the incident, and a show-up procedure was conducted with the female victim, who also positively identified Law as the aggressor.

Law was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
