Tamarac Covid-19 Case Update through November 12

With COVID-19 cases spiking all around the state, Tamarac Talk has received multiple requests to resume providing updates on data from the Florida Department of Health.

Unfortunately, fall has brought with it some bad news; COVID-19 cases are setting record highs all around the country. The data in Broward County is trending upward towards the numbers Floridians grew accustomed to seeing during the first wave of infections.

According to the Florida Department of Health, as of November 12, there have been 2,460 positive COVID-19 cases in Tamarac. That’s an increase of 6 positive test results since we updated readers on the data on November 11.

Statewide in Florida, there have been 863,169 positive COVID-19 cases to date, an increase of 5,607 over the last 24 hours. There were 72 new deaths that were reported on November 11, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Florida to 17,372 since the pandemic began.

There were 82,686 COVID-19 tests conducted in Florida on November 11, with 7,082 coming back positive. Over the last two weeks, positivity rates in Florida have grown steadily from 7.22-percent on October 29 to 8.55-percent on November 12.

The average age of a resident to contract COVID-19 in Broward County on November 11 was 38-years-old.

There have been 51,272 patients hospitalized due to the virus, a net-increase of 157 patients that have been admitted due to COVID-19 symptoms and complications over the last 24 hours.
